Wheatus: story

Wheatus is an American rock band from Northport, New York, formed in 1995. They are known principally for their 2000 single, "Teenage Dirtbag". They also experienced success with their 2001 cover version of Erasure's "A Little Respect", and their self-titled album was certified platinum in the United Kingdom.

Teenage Dirtbag" gave the band a taste of success in the States, and gave us a great song to jam to. Wheatus' follow-up single, "A Little Respect", didn't achieve the success of its predecessor worldwide 


The band derives its name from the nickname "wedus" given to the Brown brothers by their father when they were children


Formed in 1995, Wheatus is an alternative rock band fronted by Brendan B. Brown. ∙ "Teenage Dirtbag," their signature song and first single, was a global hit, going two-times Platinum in the UK and hitting No. 82 on Australian station Triple J's Hottest 100 of 20 Years list.
